Nursing services at UKER – an introduction to the team

Our work pivots around providing a high quality of care with a human touch. It is our responsibility, but at the same time also a challenge. We keep track of our resources at all times, take the necessary decisions based on the information available to us and are dedicated to providing cutting-edge nursing care fitting for a university hospital. Structure of nursing services

Our nursing services at UKER are managed by our director of nursing together with five nursing services managers. Our nursing services managers are responsible for organizing nursing services in their specific areas, located in different buildings throughout Uniklinikum Erlangen depending on their specialization

Career openings in the nursing service at UKER

Our mentors help you settle in to the area you are allocated to, following our standard guidelines but tailoring their advice and assistance to your individual needs. Our online training portal offers seminars, podcasts and video courses. You can choose training in line with your own requirements at our Academy for Health Care and Nursing Professions. We have drawn up practical guidelines for all training courses, with some areas even incorporating training sessions in their own skills labs. You can plan the various steps in your career with your line manager, and you can share your ideas and experiences with your colleagues during nursing and management symposia.

A modern working environment

You will work with our hospital information system that includes digital patient charts and process documentation. We have a modular system for our material logistics. With the wide range of qualifications offered in our nursing services, we are able to offer internal patient transport services as well as individual shuttle services. Cleaning services are provided and we have the support of nursing team assistants on our wards.

Reliable working hours

Your working hours are recorded in an annual working hours account, providing you with the greatest possible degree of flexibility. You can plan your preferred shifts and vacation reliably yourself using our automated system. If staff are unable to work at short notice, our staff-friendly tiered model for arranging cover takes effect.

Special remuneration

In addition to your tariff-based pay, you may also be entitled to additional benefits based on your qualifications, the area you are working in or your current situation.
