When our patients have to be treated for serious, rare or complex diseases, the outpatient clinics at our Uniklinikum Erlangen make a significant contribution to ensuring that they receive the essential care they require. The committed teams offer patients specialized services of a high standard during diagnosis and treatment, going beyond the capacities that medical specialists are able to offer in their own offices. All of our outpatient clinics have the necessary cutting-edge technology at their disposal. In addition, specialists from various specialties and professions work together hand in hand, pool their outstanding skills and contribute their excellent experience.

As part of our nursing staff, you belong to the team treating the patients and are predominantly responsible for the organization, coordination and smooth running of the diagnostic and treatment process. As a nursing specialist, you are responsible for patient care and patient education with the aim of improving our patients’ ability to care for themselves.

Working in one of our outpatient clinics will allow you to gain extensive expertise in the conditions we treat. You are involved in putting the latest research findings into practice, playing a direct part in encouraging medical progress at our Uniklinikum Erlangen. Depending on the specialty of the outpatient clinic, you may choose to specialize further to become, for instance, a pain nurse, a breast cancer nurse, or a diabetes consultant. Or you might find a new field of work at one of the many other areas within Uniklinikum Erlangen.

Taking on responsibility

You can also specialize in the areas of hygiene, emergency training, the Medical Devices Act, or ethics or undergo training to become an instructor. That apart, you can assume more managerial responsibility by getting involved in shift coordination or as a group leader, a deputy ward manager or a ward manager or as the manager of a specialist department.

What can we offer you?

In our outpatient clinics, you generally work from Monday to Friday, with flexible shift models. In addition to your tariff-based pay, we offer a dynamic university allowance of 143.92 euros*. Depending on your qualifications and the profile of the tasks you are responsible for, you may also be eligible for further allowances. As a member of our nursing staff, you also profit from these benefits, and working at Uniklinikum Erlangen naturally offers a number of other benefits besides.
