Who we are:
The main research topics of the Hector-Center are clinical and experimental studies regarding cancer, obesity, food intolerances, short gut syndrome/chronic intestinal failure, and microbiota. Our translational projects always aim at improving the patients’ therapy. One of our research focuses on tumour cachexia which is a major problem in patients with cancer. We investigate the influence of amino acids, proteins and dietary supplements on muscle maintenance and growth in vitro as well as in vivo human studies and mouse models.
