Your tasks:
We have two open PhD positions (m/f/d) in the field of Computational Immunology and Mathematical Modelling. We are looking for highly motivated candidates to work at the interface of data analysis and the life sciences/immunology. You will work on the development and application of novel data analytical methods to combine multi-scale and individual cell-based models with experimental and clinical data, thereby having a specific focus on lymphocyte turnover and migration dynamics. Methods involve concepts from machine learning, complex dynamical systems, high-dimensional data analysis and probability/statistics. Strong quantitative skills and mathematical knowledge are required. The work is embedded within a stimulating research environment involving the interaction with experts from machine learning, data analysis and modelling, as well as experimental and clinical collaboration partners.
Essential experience/ qualifications:
- Applicants should hold a MSc degree or PhD (for PostDoc) in computational biology, mathematics, (bio-)medical sciences, (bio-)physics, data science or other relevant disciplines
- Strong quantitative and mathematical background is desired
- High motivation and ability for interdisciplinary and collaborative work, working at the interface between the life sciences and analytical methods
- Good programming skills in R, Python and/or C++ Proficiency in English
