Since its founding in 1815, Erlangen University Hospital has offered medicine at the highest level. The latest findings in medical research and state-of-the-art equipment are used in diagnosis and therapy. The Lab of Prof. Christoph Becker at the Department of Medicine 1 is looking for a highly motivated PhD candidate. The successful applicant shares our enthusiasm for research and science and will take on an exciting research project to investigate the crosstalk of immune and epithelial cells with the gut microbiota in health and disease.

It includes high-end techniques such as culturing intestinal cells and 3D organoids, studying transgenic disease
Das Know-how dafür
- above-average degree in a natural science master's program (biology, immunology, molecular medicine, biochemistry or a related subject)
- basic knowledge of cell culture techniques and basic molecular biology methods (e.g. DNA isolation, quantitative PCR, sequencing)
- strong scientific interest in immunology and cell biology
- High motivation and willingness to perform
- Interest in the development of new methods
- Independent worker
- Very good knowledge of the English language, both written and spoken, and of common Microsoft Office programs
